06.08.20/10.08.20 - Building a base

So I have been missing for the past few days & that is because we have been building a new shed. So far we have managed to get most of the base done. There has been a lot of smashing, digging, trips to B&Q & learning, but it has been pretty good fun as well as hard work.

We started off with a old wendy house that my dad & I extended a few years ago, but has now got to the stage where we want to fully rebuild it.

The bas it was sat on was just a few slabs on top of the mud, completely on the wonk, so we decided that before we start building the new shed we would completely destroy the old one & rebuild the base from scratch.

Neither of us are builders, so this wasn't an easy task, but we are getting the slowly.

We destroyed the old shed, picked up all of the old slabs, dug out the area we wanted the base to be and layed two rows of bricks, we then levelled off all of the mud around the outside & on this inside filled the bricks up with rubble & sand and then added the slabs with concrete (We also cleaned up & painted the fence behind where the shed is going).

The old shed.

The old shed starting to come down.

The old shed nearly down.

Shed down & the mess left.

Uncovered all of the slabs & realised there were a lot more than we thought.

Removed the slabs & started digging.

Layed the first row of bricks.

Fence starting point.

Fence cleaned, sanded & painted.

Second row of bricks.

Terrain levelled.

Terrain levelled.

Filled with sand.

Started laying the slabs.

As & when there are more updates on this I will keep you informed.

Coronavirus Update:

There has been talks of gyms opening up in a few weeks now; however, with this virus still having spikes & the main reason for opening up seems to be for business recovery (which I completely understand, people have to feed themselves & the economy needs to recover), I will stay away from the gyms for a while until I feel like we can all train in a fully safe environment.
